My first substack text post

(and a word about my novel)

Keen to learn how I might use substack to connect with like minded writers and readers. Although I’m time poor and should really be trying to solve the writer’s block that has hit me halfway through my latest novella “Nobody’s Princess.”

I have one novel to my name. At least I think it qualifies as a novel. “Alice Ate the Rabbit” is a modern vampire tale with my own take on the genre. It’s set in my beloved New Zealand at the start and then travels to Romania. I enjoyed researching some of that country’s history.

Like most of my writing, it is not to all tastes. In fact, its probably not to many people’s taste at all. For some reason my stories always get a little bit sleazy. I blame the mercury in the fillings I got at the school dentist. I do have a handful of fans though. They probably borrow my books from the prison library trolley when it comes squeaking around D block every month.

Anyway, lets see if I can figure out what this substack thingy is all about :-)
